Jonny Quest Custom Action Figure by Clayton Emery

Jonny Quest, from a Jurassic Park kid.  The kid already carried a backpack, flashlight, and belt computer, so it was perfect for Jonny.  I'm working on adapting the Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull playset as a lost Aztec temple for the entire Quest crowd.

Teen Titans Custom Action Figures by Clayton Emery

The Silver Age Teen Titans.  See details below.  They stand on an old Aurora Mummy set.  Nails in their boots hold them in place so they can be removed.  Speedy could be paired up with Green  Arrow, for instance.  Wonder Girl is raised on a rod slotted into a stone.

Robin Custom Action Figure by Clayton Emery

Robin the Boy Wonder modded from some Xyber-9 character.  I couldn't make the original bare legs costume - it's too embarrassing - so cobbled a later intermediate model.  The cape is Animated Superman's cut down.

Wonder Girl Custom Action Figure by Clayton Emery

Wonder Girl of the Teen Titans.  The body is a reposed Nadia Comenic from Starting Lineup.  The head is a generic sport girl from Wal-Mart with doll hair glued on.  Her clothes are brown coffee filter paper soaked in white glue and shaped as it dried.  The sandal ties are embroidery thread.  The lasso is some thick goldish wire from a craft store.  The stars on her trunks were made in Microsoft Word, printed in different sizes in gray, then glued on.

Aqualad Custom Action Figure by Clayton Emery

Aqualad modded from a Spy Kid.  The belt buckle is a miniature horse tack buckle of brass cut down.

Speedy Custom Action Figure by Clayton Emery

Speedy, Green Arrow's sidekick, adapted from an old Gilbert Lone Ranger.  I shaved the cowboy hat down and added the brim.  The skirt to his tunic is thin plastic card.  The bow and arrow are Hawkeye's.

Kid Flash Custom Action Figure by Clayton Emery

Kid Flash of the Teen Titans modded from a Spy Kid.  I liked the lightning bolt rising from his belt line, from when his costume was still new.

Black Cross Custom Action Figure by Clayton Emery

Conrad, who goes by Black Cross, a wild indy comic from Chris Warner.  Like a Mad Max.  The kooky cowboy boots are part of the story.  He's modded from an Extreme GI Joe.  He stands on some Heavy Metal rock star's base.  I added the grave marker, his own, as a "black cross".

Legion of Super-Heroes Custom Action Figures by Clayton Emery

The start of a Legion of Super-Heroes diorama.  Ultra Boy is adapted from a GI boxer.  Timber Wolf is a PVC Venom body and a Tarzan head.  Shrinking Violet is some smaller scale female from a junk box, who was a lot more stacked and had to be shaved down.  The base is some space toy.  I'm working on an Emerald Empress to float up alongside Timber Wolf.  Violet will face off with Mordru.  Ultra Boy has has hands full.

Prince Valiant 12" Custom Action Figures by Clayton Emery

My only 12" custom so far.  Prince Valiant, made from Marx Viking Eric.  I glued the joints, then primed with Krylon to bond to the slick white plastic.  Still, you have to be gentle or the paint scrapes off.  The helmet, with the horns lopped off, is fastened with brass brads driven into his head.  The fuzzy wool leggins were gray paint dabbed with dryer lint while still sticky.  Since the plastic spear shaft bends, I cut off the spear head, then set it in a metal cuff cut from a soda wrapped around a dowel.  The spurs are from Elite Brigade.
